Bad Berleburg
Bad Berleburg is a town located in the Siegen-Wittgenstein region of the North Rhine-Westphalia land of Germany. It is thought to be one of the biggest German towns by the territory and has the population of about 20,000 people. Bad Berleburg is located in the Rothaargebirge Mountains and stands upon the Odeborn River. The town of Bad Berleburg was firstly mentioned in the chronicles in the 13th century. After the building of the railway in the town the city become a major center of wood industry and was recognized as the spa resort in the XX century.
Bad Berleburg is a town with a long history that managed to preserve many historical monuments and architectural buildings. One of the main sights of the town is Courtyard of Schloss Wittgenstein. It is a magnificent example of the Renaissance architectural style. It is opened for the public throughout the year. The other attractions of Bad Berleburg are Schloss Wittgenstein Baroque house and a museum of the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg family. The main religious building in the town is Schulkapelle Sassenhausen. It was built in the beginning of the 18th century and now also serves as a school.
